Last week Toys & Stuff featured a nifty chicken coop included with Marx farm playsets of the early 1950s. That one was fairly large, but by 1959 Marx had down-sized its coop to this rather dimunuitine structure which it included in its 146pc Modern Dairy Farm set. It measures 3 3/8" (8.6cm) L x 1 7/8" (4.8cm) H x 2 1/4" (5.7cm) D. Some years later, Marx would re-vamp this little coop by adding a tin-litho fence enclosure (which I don't have - yet). Enjoy!

2010 Hasbro Spiderman - Super Poseable Spiderman
Okay, sooner or later it had to happen. You buy enough of these things and you're gonna end up with a stinker and today Toys & Stuff presents the far less than stellar 2010 Hasbro Super Poseable Spiderman. I've watched several of the reviews on YouTube for this thing and for some reason they all think it's a good deal, maybe not the greatest action figure out there but okay. I disagree. BUT, it's not a total loss, it does have 1 1/2 things going for it. The uniform looks nice and it stands - barely. What's wrong with it?
-First: There's very little articulation, unlike so many of the other super heroes of Hasbro's line. This would have helped somewhat to compensate for its second shortcoming;
-Its stance: I've posted before where many of these figures cannot stand up straight legged, but Spidey here has such a horrible splayed-leg pose it's pathetic. You see that wide-legged pose he strikes? That's as straight legged as he gets! Terrible.
-Third: The figure comes with a useless, waste-of time and money, fake 'web' which is basically a throw-away. The piece is heavy and getting the figure to hold it while standing up is pretty near impossible and there is no way to attach the web to the figure. At either end of the web are holes and handles which make it appear as if it mates or perhaps attaches to other accessories, however unlike other toy lines I've seen, the packaging does not indicate what other sets it may have been meant to compliment.
-Fourth: His neck and head structure. Do you remember the aliens in the movie "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull"? 'Nuff said!
Okay, at least he photographs well. Enjoy!

Louis Marx & Company Cars Of The Future - Gray Car #4
Well, with a little interruption to the schedule (are blogs s'posed to have schedules?) we finally put a cap to our look at repo Marx Cars of the Future in gray - car #4. I do have several other sets in different colors but am reluctant to post them as we could potentially be looking at the same four cars for months on end. Now, from what I've been able to determine, none of the repo cars were issued in bright, playful colors like some other repo Marx stuff I've seen out there. And in fact, I've never noticed an original Marx Future Car from this series in really bright colors either. I have seen smaller Marx space cars in bright colors though.
I'm not sure yet what I'll post next by way of space stuff so just stay tuned to this station! Enjoy!

Post Cereal Bedrock Car
In trying to keep the 'Flintstones Friday' theme (at least for a little while) today Toys & Stuff presents a nifty little premium from Post cereals - the Bedrock Car. I haven't a clue which Post cereal these came in or what year they were offered but they do add to the Stoneage Used Car Lot! I do know they came in a variety of bright colors. The cars featured a pull-cord 'motor'. One inserts the toothed cord into a slot next to the wheel. The large wheel has an integral gear with teeth which the cord engages. Pull swiftly up on the cord, quickly place the car on the floor and let 'er rip! It works pretty good!! Enjoy!
