Multiple Toymakers No 1233 Castle Attack Playset - U.S.

I hate it when this happens. So last year I was out in The Cave trying to make sense of the mayhem out there and in particular was looking for my Multiple Toymakers Castle Attack playset.  For the life of me I just couldn't find it, however I did happen upon a similar set in fleaBay - one made for distribution in Canada. The price was decent and because it was an interesting variation I went ahead and bought it. It was posted here on the blog back in December 2021.  Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago and I'm back out in The Cave and this time doing a box-by-box, shelf-by-shelf, drawer-by-drawer inventory and guess what? Yup, I found that Castle Attack playset I was looking for last year. It was in a drawer, underneath bags of miscellaneous knights!!! Soooo here it is now in all its glory. I photographed the set exactly as I received it (it's missing one of the giant crossbows - I do have an extra out in The Cave though), but appears to be complete otherwise.  Enjoy! The set has a nice compliment of 34 knights in three colors along with two horses. They're classified as 40mm but when I place my ruler next to them, they're closer to 45mm! go figure. This set shot only shows one giant crossbow but I do have an extra out in The Cave to flesh out the set.

Tin-litho F-101 Voodoo - KO in a Diamond / Yoshiya Kobe Yoko Ltd. (Japan)

Here is a gorgeous Hunk O' Tin I picked up years ago and always meant to post, but just never got around to it. Part of the problem was it came to me with a broken nose piece. The tip was actually held together with clear tape! Soooo, this past week I decided to fix it. The rubber/vinyl that it's made out of is deteriorating, but there was enough structural integrity to enable me to drill holes in both halves and insert a small wire to act as an armature before gluing the two pieces together. It's among my bigger planes, measuring 17 1/2" (44.45cm) L x 8 1/2" (21.59cm) wingspan x 4 1/4" (10.79cm) H and, like many tin litho airplanes of the era, has a removable wing assembly housing the friction motor and battery compartment (which takes one 'C' cell battery). The plane has a friction motor, but when it rolls forward, lights in either wing light up (as shown in the YouTube video. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

As you turn the wheels or roll the plane forward, the lights come on in an alternating fashion

Empire F-80-C Shooting Star

I'm gonna post some random toys for a while until I'm ready to start the next series. It's been a while since any planes were posted here but there will be a couple in the next week. Here's a nice little red, hard plastic F-80-C Shooting Star from Empire. It measures 3 5/8" (9.20cm) L x 4" (10.16cm) wingspan x 1 1/2" (3.81cm) H. Enjoy! Opa Fritz
