SunnySide ('SS' - China) No. 310 (Chassis No. SS-305-6) - Top Down - Royal Blue

Here's another case where the chassis number does not match up with the item number listed on the box side. This car was offered by 'SS' in a top up and top down version. There's a lot of oxidation on the plated parts and the spare tires on my sample are wasted with chunks of rubber laying in the box! As to what real car this toy was based on I simply have no clue, nor did I bother to look. If a photo of an Old Timer comes my way that looks like this I'll research it more, but until then - Enjoy! SunnySide ('SS' - China) No. 309 (No Chassis Number) - Dark Green 1950 Jaguar XK 120 Base NOT 1/43 Scale

I stated in an earlier post that the cars in this set were all 1/43 scale...

...I lied   :-)

After taking photos and comparing several of the vehicles to others in my diecast collection, it's apparent that not all of the vehicles in the 'Antique Classics 3' set are 1/43. Let's take these Jaguars I posted yesterday and today and check out how they compare to 1/43 scale cars in my collection:

I don't know, is it just me or does the Jag look a bit oversized when compared to another car from the set?

The Jag seems a bit wide. I've noticed other cars in this set marked "1/38" on the chassis (but not this one - the underside is devoid of any identification on this one)
Sooo, could this be 1/38 scale?

The car on the left is 1/43 scale - the Jag?

Maybe if I were to see one of these Jaguar's in person it might help my scale perspective but the miniature appears larger than it should be next to the '55 Chevy Bel Air

Another clue that this is not 1/43 scale: the opening hood with engine detail. Having had many 1/43 scale vehicles, that's a feature one doesn't normally find in the smaller cars. Opening trunks yes, opening hoods with engines, seldom.

In any case, here's the Jag in dark green - Enjoy! Opa Fritz

SunnySide ('SS' - China) No. 309 (No Chassis Number) - Cream 1950 Jaguar XK 120 Base?

I have to admit - I'm itchin' to move on to other things and want to get this SunnySide series over and done with! LOL Heck, that's just my impatience speaking but I will see this through to the end - whenever that will be. Today's offering is of course another car from the 'Antique Classic 3' boxed set and is, to my best estimation, based on the Jaguar XK 120 Base from 1950. There is no chassis number molded into the frame underneath the vehicle. Enjoy! Opa Fritz
