Marx 45mm 2nd Series GI's - The Camp Poses - Pt 1

The 2nd series 45mm GI poses were made starting in 1952 and started appearing in the 1953 Sears Wishbook in 1953. However, the '63 Wishbook photo only shows a couple of the figures, not the entire set. Both 1st and 2nd series sets were shown in their entirety in the 1954 Wishbook.

The 2nd series is referred to as the 'camp' poses because several figures are holding mess kits, or are sitting down drinking from a cup, or guarding. There were 14 different poses total, plus a 3-piece stretcher to haul the wounded. According to Playset magazine, there could have been upwards of 44 series 2 figures in a playset. While my set is mostly complete, as of today, I only have a repo stretcher but hope to get an original before long.

My photo is missing the stretcher. I do have a repo stretcher and have taken photos of it with the original 2nd series stretcher bearers, but I hope to get an original before long.

Without the helmet this guy is for sure 45mm
