For years now, I've been totally neglecting Ajax space figures. Why? I couldn't tell you. They just sort of flew under the radar for me and my collection, which is quite daft seeing as how they fit into my collecting interest of vintage space toys. However, I did rectify that situation and have been amassing Ajax stuff for the past year now - it's just taken me a while to photograph everything.
Ajax was probably the second most prolific maker of space figures behind Archer. There were only six different poses but they pumped out gazillions of figures back in the '50 & '60s and so are quite common. Unlike Archer, Ajax offered its spacemen in painted and unpainted versions and, while they are mostly known for their figures, they did offer a couple of sets comprising of a rocket and a few figures. The figures themselves are 80mm tall, and as such are a bit tricky to pair with spaceships for diorama purposes.
