Processed Plastic / Tim-Mee Toys Galaxy Laser Team 54mm SP (1978) - Pt 1

This next group of space figures was another one of those on-again, off-again collecting efforts. I bought a job lot of these figures years ago and didn't know who made them or how many were in the set, etc., but I eventually found out that they were made by Processed Plastic / Tim-Mee Toys. Processed Plastic owned Tim-Mee Toys and the figures were generally sold in header bags labeled for one or the other. While collector's tend to refer to these as the 'Galaxy Laser Team' - because that's one of the names they were sold under - they were also called 'Star Force'. Apparently the 'Star Force' sets were premium in that they included an X-Wing Rocket. The designs are nods to both Star Wars and the '70s era Buck Rogers television show with obvious references to Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Hans Solo, odd looking aliens, and cutesy little robots found in both venues. There are eight poses in 54mm soft plastic, molded in what I call 'gag-a-maggot' colors. Sorry folks, but the colors chosen for this line are just wretched, but it are what it is and if you're gonna collect vintage figures you take the good with the bad. Follow us into our next spacey toy adventure and - Enjoy! Opa Fritz
