Our next installment in the Flash Gordon series of space ships originally produced by Premier Plastics features yet another soft plastic knock-off variant. I've labeled this one 5" dart v.4 and it has the following characteristics:
5” Darts v.4
- Soft plastic
- Knock-off
- 7 windows behind cockpit
- 3 short struts (stumpy legs) in place of wheels in
tricycle landing gear arrangement
- No number underneath fuselage
- Stiffening ribs between windows
- Platform molded above engine nacelles to accommodate
spaceman
- Original exhaust
I call these types of soft plastic versions 'stumpy legs' because of the shortened struts. Another aspect of the soft plastic ships is their tendency to have crooked noses - like boxers who've been in one too many fights and have had their schnozes 'altered'. Enjoy!

The original Low Rider: Notice how low to the ground this sits compared to the
ship pictured just below it which was featured last Saturday
(last week's ship - with tall struts)
Notice that the exhaust rear has no connecting bar as on the original hard plastic versions
Below: The original hard plastic version with wheels and exhaust bar
Some of these soft plastic ships have very pronounced crooked noses. This one isn't too bad.
