GIANT Starship Troopers Play Time - Pt 4 Preparing For Invasion

It's been quite the busy week here and I've had to back away from blogging for a bit. As I write this, it's nearly 8AM and I've already started a load of wash as well as getting out the Christmas tree and starting to get things ready for the annual Christmas train layout. Our layouts are not large, elaborate affairs because we live in a postage stamp sized house, but we do what we can. More on that later.

In the meantime, the GIANT Starship Troops set-up continues with these shots of our intrepid outpost garrison prepping for an alien invasion. One of the alien ships is visible in the background and troops and armor are starting to amass in preparation. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

Andy Gard Weasel

I recently acquired this Andy Gard Weasel and can now count my Andy Gard military vehicle collection complete (I still need to find my 60mm ringhand figures though - Andy Gard only made four poses and a smattering of accessories). The Weasel measures: 6.5" (16.51cm) L (w/o gun barrel) x 3.5" (8.89cm) W x 3" (6.62cm) H. The difference's between the Andy Gard and MPC Weasel are:

-The Andy Gard does not have holes in the seats to accommodate drivers/sitters

-There are no holes anywhere on the hull to accept machine guns or flags

-The hitch ring in the rear of the vehicle (used to haul the cannon) does not have that odd 'keeper' found on the MPC version

Enjoy! Opa Fritz

The MPC version has holes in the hull and seats to accommodate figures, guns, flags, etc.

Thring hitch on the Andy Gard Weasel is nice and simple

The MPC Weasel has an awkward hook which really serves no useful function

The repo Andy Gard figures are black

GIANT Starship Troopers Play Time - Pt 3 Uneasy Feeling

The outpost guards don't feel right - a gut feeling they've learned to pay attention to since being stationed out here at the edge of the Solar System. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

21st Century #20002 54mm U.S. Infantry Series 2 - Pt 3 Pose 2

I really like this guy as it's a very different 'take' on the standard bazooka guy pose. This time our intrepid infantryman is on the move toting his weapon vs. the standard pose of kneeling-firing-bazooka. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

21st Century #20002 54mm U.S. Infantry Series 2 - Pt 2 Pose 1

As I was looking through the photos for this guy it was quite apparent that there was something odd about his right eye! Does he look like someone punched him in the eye? The result of hand-to-hand combat maybe? We may never know. Enjoy! Opa Fritz
