For the first few years of the blog Fridays were reserved for either the Flintstones or Fire and Emergency (F&E) vehicles but keeping up a schedule like that is tough so we slacked off. We still have some cool Flintstones and F&E toys to share but now they just have to wait until we get the oomph to post them. Okay, so let's do a Flintstones post!
Back in the '60s Marx put out a line of hard plastic figures called Tinykins based on popular cartoon characters from Disney or Hanna-Barbera television cartoons. The Flintstones figures we're posting today are not original casts from the '60s - those would have been individually packaged in separate boxes or sometimes as complete sets, not in a plain white box like this set. I believe what we have here are modern day repos made from the original tooling because the originals were made in Hong Kong, although that is conjecture. Whatever the case is, for the Flintstones collector it's a nice way to get that original look without the expense of buying original figures. The paint jobs on these leave a little to be desired though and a couple of them are downright hilarious, however some of the originals were no better so you still get that vintage feel. Well, 'nuff said - Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina
