The second of two Mayflower Transit Co. vans that I bought, this one has a shorter cab with lights on the roof and a smaller grill. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

A Tale of Two Mayflower Trucks - Pt 2 Tall Cab
As stated in the earlier post, the two trucks are best differentiated by their cabs. This one's cab is taller and has no 'lights' on top of it. As well, the grill is larger. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

A Tale of Two Mayflower Trucks - Pt 1
Something interesting happened earlier this year when I bought two vintage Mayflower Transit Co. trucks for future use on the train layout. One of them was bought off of fleaBay, while the other came from Etsy and upon comparing the two found they were different. Neither one has manufacturers marks or country of origin, but given they were probably made during the 1960sbut based on the photo below from fellow super collector Michael Green, these were apparently made in China. They both measure: 4.25" (10.79cm) L x 1.5" (3.81cm) W x 1.75" (4.44cm) H. The tin-litho covers at the back are identical, but there are differences in the plastic cabs, and the chassis stampings. I'll post individual photo essays in the next couple of days. Enjoy! Opa Fritz
