Part 2 of my coverage of the 2016 Aviation Nation Air Show coverage at Nellis AFB. It's funny but living and working here we become rather jaded (bored?) with seeing the modern aircraft like F-15s, F-22s, F-35s, etc. because we see them all the time and living close to the air base we also see them like right over the house (at fairly low level) so when they start to strut their stuff towards the end of the show we kinda yawn and tell ourselves it's time to go. That's kind of sad when you think about it because many people plan their vacations around events like this and are absolutely thrilled to have the chance to see these magnificent machines in action. Sorry guys. Then too, we're getting older and hanging around all day long just gets to be tiring for us so, having already seen the new stuff, we say our goodbyes a little early. Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina
The pictures we've been posting here are all raw, unedited shots. There just wasn't time to crop or otherwise edit the 1200 shots taken by all three of us.
There's a plane in this picture. No, really, there is :-)
That fire in the background was part of the pyrotechnic display starting up for the aerial demonstration
In the background: a jet car! This car ran a 'race' against the F-86 Sabre. It was pretty interesting but my camera couldn't capture all the action
