The Great Gazoo character was introduced midway through "The Flintstones" original series final season and is considered by many, the moment when the series "jumped the shark" - basically outlived its useable life by featuring or introducing inane or non-sensical aspects. I know that I for one, even though I was just a kid, thought he was just plain stoo-pid :-) I wasn't really crazy about the character and didn't like it when he appeared. Fortunately he only popped up in eleven episodes. He plays an integral role in "The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas" which is actually a prequel so obviously the producers didn't follow the continuity of the original series.
Now - on to the toy. Like the other toys in this series from Burger King, he looks more like the original cartoon character than the movie character. As a toy, it's kind of neat. A notched strap is inserted into the side and the saucer is placed atop the building. When holding it in place atop the buildingm the strap is pulled out briskly, and its gyroscopic turning action causes it to spin and balance. It's really a lot of fun, so in this regard I finally give the Great Gazoo his due! Enjoy! From The Berg's :)
