It's a Small World After All: Wyandotte Small Auto - Green HP

To me, this next little gem is reminiscent of the 1950 Nash Ambassador with that distinctive overturned bathtub look. This toy  car was easy to identify as Wyandotte because on the rear trunk, where a license plate would normally be, is imprinted 'Y&.' - Y and dot. Wyandotte was a well known toy manufacturer back in the day and several of their toys have appeared here on the blog.  This set of photos was taken in 2016 so my notes are lost but, like yesterday's Empire Sedan, this one is ca1 1/2"L. Wyandotte Tin-litho Toytown Fire Station

Just a week after I started this blog this terrific tin-litho fire station from Wyandotte got posted. Back in 2010 I didn't have a standard format and only a few pictures of the building were taken and posted. And I didn't yet have the little plastic fire truck which was originally sold with the station back in 1951. The fire truck was just posted here yesterday and now I'm happy to be able to present a better collection of photos to include a couple of the fire station and fire truck together! I'll bet this toy fire station hasn't seen it's companion piece in decades! Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina

Wyandotte Hook& Ladder Fire Truck - Red/White HP

After years of looking for a Wyandotte plastic fire engine to go with my Wyandotte Toytown Fire Station I finally latched on to one last year. I have posted the red and white HP versions of the All Metal Products Co. trucks. All Metal was, I believe, the result of a merger with Wyandotte and their fire trucks were modified versions of the original shown here today. My sample has some issues with the ladder - a few broken rungs - but is otherwise in decent enough shape. It measures 6" long overall (with ladder). The body measures 5 3/4" (14.60cm) L 1 5/8" (4.12cm) W x 1 3/8" (3.49cm) H. With the ladder inn the raised position it is 5" (12.7cm) H. Enjoy!
