Archer Cars Of Tomorrow - 1952 Coupe

Here's the last of the Archer 'Cars of Tomorrow' that I have in my collection, the Coupe. It surprises me, although it probably shouldn't, of how little vision toy makers of the early-to-mid '50s had of the future in regards to the cars and trucks they proclaimed to be 'futuristic'. Often times their designs were little more than meager re-hashes of what was rolling along the streets at the time.
The 'futuristic' cars of 1952

Later in the decade and most certainly by the '60 they had found their vision and started offering truly futuristic vehicles often times based on concept cars directly out of Detroit (although there were a couple of concept car toys produced in the early '50s). Enjoy!
