Well we have been as busy as beavers the past few days. It's amazing how one little baby girl can keep a house full of adults on their toes. That being said, I'm sitting here at the 'puter typing with on hand, while holding Melody in my lap. Oma just gave her her bottle :-)
Okay, as you know we've been covering our trip to Sparks, Nevada this past 12th & 13th and we hope you've enjoyed the photos of the beautiful scenery we've posted. On the drive north we went north on I-95 through Beatty, Goldfield, Tonopah, Hawthorne, Fallon and on into Sparks. On the trip back we took a slightly different route going south to Carson City (and stopping to visit the Nevada State Railroad Museum), then on to Yerrington, catching the junction at Schurtz and finally retracing our steps through Tonopah, Goldfield, Beatty and back home. We'll let the photos do most of the talking while travel from Carson City to Tonopah. Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina
Just outside of Carson City
Beautiful Southwestern vistas abound!
Entering the area around Yerrington
Yerrington is farm and ranch country. Bettina managed to get these shots of a ranch entrance
N ow heading towards Schurtz. From Carson City to Schurtz is essentially an eastward drive. When we get Schurtz we start heading southward
We're in the vicinity of Schurtz now
Just north o Tonopah, out in the middle of nowhere, sits this solar farm
As you travel the wide open spaces the land is dotted with hills here-and-there. Nestled within these little bumps on the landscape lies the town of Tonophah. That's where we'll pick up tomorrow's post.
