Penny toys were inexpensively made tin litho toys often times sold by street vendors as novelty items and cost, well, a penny! You won't get something like this for a penny today. Heck, even a paper clip has more worth and practical value than a cent!
Here's a diminutive Mobile Gas Station made in Japan by an unknown manufacturer. At 1 1/2" (3.8cm) D x 7/8" (2.2cm) W x 1 3/8" (3.5cm) H this won't overwhelm anyone's display space. My example is missing the gas pump though. I've titled the post 'Mobile Gas Station w-o Garage' because all four walls are solid. I have another example which I'll try to post tomorrow with an opening in one of the side walls for a 'garage'. For now though - Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina
