In case you haven't guessed yet, I've pretty much been going through the Marx accessories in item number sequence. There will be some exceptions to this but mostly it's been easier to just pick these out of the photo albums in sequence. Here's today's offerings:
Marx #1460 Gantry Crane
Marx #2920 Switchman's Tower
Marx #2940 Lighted Switchman's Tower
Marx #6111 Fence & Ramp
Marx #B-25 Bridge Light Attachment
Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina
Marx #1460 Gantry Crane
I attached sliders made from the metal strips found on track contactors. One slider is lower and slides along one of the rails the wheels come in contact with
The othe slider sits higher and is longer...
...the longer/higher slider glides along a third rail as seen in the photo below allowing the light to shine.
Marx #2920 Switchman's Tower
Bothe the lighted and unlighted towers have a little man which strolls back-and-forth across the status board while another man pops outside the door for a look. They're activated by a thin metal plate which rests over the outside rail of track. You can see it in the photo below
That little corner niche houses the bulb in the lighted version.
Marx #2940 Lighted Switchman's Tower
Here's a look at the gearing allowing one man to move in front of the status board while the other one pops out of the door.
Marx #6111 Fence & Ramp
When the catch lever is extended it engages the end of the ramp, gets pushed back, and causes the cattle door to open
This is the later version ramp which had two angled end fences. Earlier versions had straight up end fences which interfered with rolling stock
If you look at this photo, you'll notice the angled end fence on one end and the straight up end-fence on the other
