I don't think there's a need to go into Forbidden Planet history. It's enough to say that for such an early sci-fi movie, it is still a masterpiece. Story telling, special effects, characters one can identify with - it has it all and has stood the test of time. Today's figure is that of Dr. Edward Morbius as aptly portrayed by Walter Pidgeon.
