I bought this set two years ago and up until a couple of weeks ago, this is how it looked:
That's kind of a bad habit I have - buying trains and letting them sit forever before finally unboxing them and running them. My intent was to feature this work train a couple of years back, around the same time I was running and recording other work trains I had...
...then I got distracted!
Welll, it's been unboxed and the contents photographed, but as of this post, hasn't yet been run. The layout currently has two trains on it that I've been running for the past week and I'll have to start putting those away before running this. In the meantime, we can enjoy the photos I took.
This is a spectacular set as old school work trains go having a nice long consist with a couple of terrific action cars, however, there are no accessories in this one. Be Blessed and Relish Life! Ed
The set was first introduced in the 1995 catalog:
1995 was a good year for the Hershey's trains and the work train occupied one of three pages full of Hershey's.
