Today on Marx Monday we feature the #T7-34 Army Barracks. This is the first tin-litho version of the two-story barracks and was introduced in 1954 in one of the Army Training Center playsets. It is has olive drab walls, with yellow trim, a speckled 'tar paper' roof, and a separate stove-pipe style black chimney with red cap (the chimney on my example is a repo). The yellow fire escape on this version is lithographed on one end wall while on other versions the fire escape was a separate yellow hard plastic piece. The building measures 5 3/4"W x 11 1/2"L x 8"H (14.6cm x 29.2cm x 20.3cm) and is quite an impressive centerpiece for a training center set-up or diorama, overwhelming the smaller headquarters buildings offered in other sets. Enjoy!
