Burger King Universal Studios Monsters 1997 - Frankenstein

If you're my age, it's almost sacrilege to put together a Halloween set-up and not have at least a couple classic monsters. Back in 1997, Burger King produced a four figure tribute set to Universal's classic baddies: Frankenstein, The Wolfman, Dracula, and the Creature From The Black Lagoon as part of their Kids Club meals. Hard to go wrong with a foursome like that. These are great figures which stand approx 4" high - now, I just have to figure out how to work them into Spooky Village!

Frankie is articulated, though not at the knees and elbows. he has a translucent green head which was designed such that when he lays on the operating table and the light is turned on it illuminates his head in an eerie light. However, after all these years the light embedded in the table no longer works. He's a pretty good likeness of Boris Karloff in his iconic role, right down to the elevator shoes which made him tower over the other actors! Frankie stands 4" (10.16cm) H, the table measures 4"(10.16cm) L x 2" (5.08cm) W x 2 1/8" (5.39cm) H. Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina

The bench comes disassembled

The bench is designed to fit Dracula and The Wolfman as well

The operating table bears a resemblance to the one in the movie which actually tilted up to allow Boris/Frankie to disembark on his journey of mayhem. The control panel was not actually connected to the table but several feet away being manipulated by Dr. Frankenstein.

that big lever on the right is the light switch - but alas, no light here!

  1. I just found our Frankenstein with table & it’s in perfect condition but the light doesn’t work either! I set it up every Halloween as part of my decorations & just like my own kids liked to play with it, so do my grandchild! Thanks for writing this blog post!

    1. I tend not to break out my Universal Monsters every year (having too much stuff to pull out and display everything), but they are a real treat to see on Halloween when I do use them.
