In looking at the box art, it's apparent that one cannot expect nicely detailed LEGO constructs. They are all simple with only a few parts but they do convey that sense of Harry Potter-ness as in this simple, yet very recognizable Hogwarts envelope. This type of envelope is present in several of the movies and is used to convey both good news and bad.

While LEGO does make a one-piece cast Hedwig, this set is all about assembling LEGO toys. This one is quite a bit larger than the cast owl but is also seriously smaller than the Hedwig owl construct in the No. 76425 Harry Potter at 4 Privet Drive set posted back on 16 June.

I bought two Advent calendars this year, one from LEGO and the other one from Schleich. The LEGO calendar has the usual LEGO fare, while the Schleich calendar features beautifully sculpted figurines. I love 'em both and won't play favorites, so enjoy the next 24 days of Advent calendar surprises!
