FOV labeled nearly every box of U.S. figures as '82nd Airborne', however, they didn't attempt placing unit patches on the figures themselves. That means they could be from just about any unit in the ETO.

All gripes about FOV's packaging aside, they really did a good job with the figures and accessories they offered. Like Marx and MPC, they offered a basic assortment of pieces, then mixed and matched them in a variety of sets.  This set included U.S. Pose 1, 2, 4, and 9 and the figures shown were all individually photographed and are not repeats of photos shown in earlier posts. This was possible because back in the day I bought a lot of these sets - I just never kept or photographed the boxes (save for one) - and was able to pull them all from the tote bins they were stored in.

Soooo, here I am again asking questions I know can't be answered. I had identified basically two different boxes for FOV figure sets. Series 1 boxes were dark and Series 2 boxes were light (olive green). The boxes themselves utilized the same stampings, only the artwork was different. While researching this series it was evident that the Series 1 box copyright dates were either earlier or were the same year as the Series 2 boxes...

... except this one! In this instance the 'early' box is dated later than the 'later' box.

Why? 

We'll never know.

Again, as my original boxes did not survive through the years, I pulled the figures and accessories from the tote bins. I was careful to try and color match the figures and the major accessories were easy to locate, however, I was unable to determine what 'smalls' were included.
