The auto carrier fleet has grown by one with the addition of this Nifty '50s Ideal No. I-3361 set. It's a pretty good match-up with the Wyandotte carrier we featured some weeks back (comparison photos included here). This carrier is made of blue and yellow hard plastic and has an operating ramp. There's not much room on the top deck and it will only hold one car comfortably. It measures 9 1/2" (23.49cm) L x 1 3/4" (4.44cm) W x 1 1/2" (3.81cm) H. I remember as a kid having a large pressed steel auto transport. Don't remember if it was Marx, Buddy L, whatever...??? .Anywho, it's fun being able to latch on to these old toys now. Enjoy! I have the identical carrier, but as a Reliable Toys Canada version with slightly different cars. I collect Canadian version toys of many of the US manufacturers. Plastic and pressed steel. As well as building sets etc. Great hobby, and it is amazing that what starts out as a simple purchase can lead down a path of many variations in a particular model.
ReplyDeleteCool Richard! I started doing the same thing with plastic Marx train accessories. I hadn't gotten around to posting many of them though because we lost the external hard drive the photos were on. The Marx Canadian production is hard as heck to latch on to nowadays.
