Eldon No. 1010 USMC LCT

Here's another Eldon military toy from 1958: Eldon No. 1010 USMC LCT. It measures 10 1/2" (26.67cm) L x 3 7/8" (9.84cm) W x 1 3/8" (3.49cm) H to top of hull. The craft comes with an armored car, a Jeep (mine is missing the machine gun  in back), and three figures. Eldon offered six different poses and you got any three at random. Today we'll just show the landing craft and in future posts we'll individually highlight the remaing pieces. Some people have noted that this should be called an L.C.M (Landing Craft Mechanized) because it's smaller than what a Landing Craft Tank (L.C.T.) would be. That may be true but as I've seen in my years as a collector, sticking to accurate nomeclatures never stopped a toy company from doing what they pleased, as they often played fast and loose with designations. Soooo, because Eldon called this an LCT I'm gonna go by what they called it to avoid confusion. Enjoy! Opa Fritz
