Here's another wagon I had bought already made up. Like the other wooden built-up wagon I posted last week, this has a few issues. A couple of pieces were broken and had to be re-glued, and the flatcar is a re-paint. In spite of those flaws I still like it and am glad to be its caretaker for now. At first I thought this was a Wardie-Jay kit but after looking at their catalogs it doesn't seem to have been offered by them. A member of one the facebook groups said it was a Circus Craft kit. As I have no Circus Craft catalogs or unbuilt kits like this wagon, I'll take their word for it. Shown below is a Circus Craft box and one can easily identify the wagons by the art work on the top. Enjoy! Opa Fritz
The wagon had been re-painted using a brush. In person, one can just barely see lettering on the side of the flat car reading "Lionel Lines Circus", but it's impossible to tell on the photos
No decal for the wagon number on this one. Instead, a plastic label from a Dymo label maker was used
Okay, you see how long those poles on the side are sticking out from behind the wagon? You see the pipe cleaners in the wagon? My guess is, that whoever built this may have screwed up. Those poles were probably meant to be much shorter and the cut-off remnants placed inside the wagon. They then tried to hide their mistake by placing pipe cleaners inside because they can be bent to fit under the cross brace. Without the original instructions I can't prove it, but that's an educated guess.
