If you'd have told me five years ago that I'd be into LEGO's I would probably have laughed thinking that I was either too old or simply not 'into' LEGO. Wellll, here I am, a 70+ year-old old fart and sure enough, I'm having the time of my life with these little bricks! Funny how life works.
Not having room for one of those huge but wonderful LEGO Hogwarts Castles, it makes more sense at the moment for me to think small. Smaller playsets that represent only a portion of the vast Wizarding World are a much better choice for my space challenged home. At my granddaughter's request, this year's Halloween train layout featured Harry Potter and a portion of that layout was given over to the Forbidden Forest. LEGO makes several Forbidden Forest sets - all small - that when combined, can be a nice little representation. To that end I bought this Magical Creatures set and used it this for this year's layout. There's another Magical Forest set which I've built up and photographed but still needs blogging, as well there's a really small set winging its way through the postal system to me this week.
