I really love the look of the older style Batmobile's, from the 1930s up to the '60s. That classic styling is timeless and Mattel has captured it nicely with their 1/50 scale 1940s Batmobile from 2011. I now have the 1/64 scale version from Johnny Lightning and the 1/43 scale version from Corgi. HOWEVER, I'm not gonna plunk down the $300 needed for the Danbury Mint's 1/24 scale version. No way! Anywho, the Mattel version is diecast except for that huge dorsal fin on the hood which is a flexible vinyl. My example's fin is slightly warped but overall the car is still quite presentable. Nothing says 'Batmobile' like that Bat-head battering ram in front and the huge fin. That is fun comic book kitsch in the best sense of the word. Enjoy!
