TRAIN TIME: K-Line K42450 Operating Sawmill

So the other day I was playing with my trains on the small Edge of Town micro-layout and was running a small logging train. Then I got to thinking that just under the layout was this sawmill from K-Line. It was meant for eventual placement on the large layout but I thought it would be fun to see if it even fit of the EoT - and it did -  although the problem was that all the interesting details were hidden from view. The boring roofs and side walls of the boiler house had to face the viewer because that's where the unloading  ramp needed to be placed - next to the siding track. Anywho, you'll see what I'm talking about by looking at the photos. While I didn't hook anything up, this thing is loaded with features like 'steam' coming from the boiler, a light inside the boiler house, and a rotating saw blade. Its most unusual feature is that it's made of all wood vs. the plastic normally found in K-Line structures.  The overall footprint is: 13 1/2" (34.29cm) W x 7" (17.78cm) D x 4 1/4" (10.79cm) H. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

This set is loaded with accessories

That bent piece of metal should be covered with sawdust to mimic the sawdust being blown from underneath the saw blade

The shed that houses the saw carriage is easily removable for viewing and maintenance

Interior details are rustic

From the normal viewing angles, there isn't much to see but walls and roofs
