PIRATES: Gayla International Set #870 Pirates of The Caribbean (1990's) - Pt 1

I'm taking a break from MPC Pirates for now. There's one thing sadly lacking in my collection to-date: no adversary's! Generally, British Rev War type figures were used as 'the other side' in play battles but I only have two of the four poses MPC made and zero accessories so now it's time to play catch-up with my collection. For now let's look at something else...

...here's a nice header bag set of Pirates distributed by Gayla International to dollar stores during the 1990s. It consists of 10 each 54mm figures in 7 poses, all of which are repop's of earlier Marx figures. I love the artwork on the header card and how it shows actual poses of figures contained in the bag. The set does not include a treasure chest or skiff/dinghy. This first post is just a quick overview of the set while subsequent posts will feature the photo essays of the individual figures. Enjoy!
