I had to look at this guy a few times to see where he fit into the scheme of things. First of all, he's not aircrew, or maintenance, or munitions as he's wearing his Class A uniform. Second, he's using a blinker light which none of the aforementioned specialists would do. That means he's no doubt a part of the Control Tower personnel, who would have come to work dressed in their blues (the blue uniform: dark blue pants and tie, light blue shirt). While it's something we may not see today, the use of the blinker light may still have been a common practice in the early 1950s for Tower personnel. His is the only uniform from Marx's eleven poses with rank insignia, and we can see he was a two-striper - an Airman 2nd Class in 1954.
