Payton Products, Inc. Little Green Army Men - Pt 93 80mm Ringhands Pt 1

Payton made a very limited series of 80mm ringhand type GI's copied from Pecos. There were only the four poses shown below and at least four colors (only three of which I have): light blue, metallic blue, olive green, and white. Accessories were molded in the same colors as the figures but my small collection only has metallic blue and white. They too were limited as well and were molded in two sprues:

1st sprue:

-Web belt #1 with grenades hanging from it

-Rifle

-Helmet

2nd sprue

-Web belt #2 with pistol holster hanging from where the grenades would be on belt #1

-Submachine gun

-45mm pistol

-Helmet

Payton used an odd method of attaching the rifle and machine gun to the figures. Other manufacturers' ringhands relied solely on the shape of the hands themselves to hold any weapons. Payton, on the other hand, molded small pins on either the hands or the chest that fit into corresponding holes in the accessory.

Apparently Kent Owen Sprecher's Toy Soldier HQ is up and running again. This shows the full complement of figures and accessories

Notice the pin sticking out of the palm of his hand
