REMCO Hamilton's Invaders - Pt 1 A Short History and PFPC No. 42 (Apr '96) Featuring Hamilton's Invaders

Wellll, I expect this series to go on for a while.

REMCO'S FABULOUS HAMILTON'S INVADERS!

This fantastic series of toys was only produced in 1964 and '65 but judging by its popularity, has left an indelible mark on the memories of those of who grew up during that era. The toys were perfect for the time in that they capitalized on the bug craze which had been going on since the early 1950s. While I personally wasn't a big bad bug fan, 'Them' was, and is, one of my favorite movies, regardless of genre, and these toys were among my favorites as a kid!

I have to wonder if Schaper's 1949 Cootie game helped kick-start the bug craze?
These were made for many years and I remember having this as a kid. I liked the bug figurine but thought it an odd toy. One would have to buy several of these to amass an army of bugs!

A Cooties cousin gone bad

Below is an article which appeared in the April 1996 issue of Plastic Figure and Playset Magazine. While it doesn't mention the actual origin's of the name "Horrible Hamilton', several posts in the fb groups indicate that there was some bad blood within the REMCO organization which led to the rather odd name for this toy line. Stay tuned to this station for more to come! Enjoy! Opa Fritz

21st Century #20010 U.S. Infantry Series 1 - Pt 5 Pose 4

This is an interesting pose in that he appears to be firing his rifle while running. Either that or he has lifted his rifle just prior to stopping and taking aim. Enjoy! Opa Fritz
