Japan - KKK (Marketed in States by Cragstan) Tin-litho Batt Op Greyhound Bus

I really like the looks of the Greyhound Scenicruiser split-level bus and had a larger tin-litho version in my collection until it got sold off last year. After finding out about this smaller sized bus made by 'KKK' of Japan and marketed here Stateside by Cragstan, I thought it would probably be just right for my 3-rail O-gauge toy train layout. Measuring 7" (17.78cm) L x 2 1/4" (5.71cm) W x 2 1/2" (6.35cm) H it fit the bill nicely as you can see by the photos. There is a battery compartment underneath which accommodates one 'D' cell battery. The lever on top is a simply Forward-off-Reverse switch. My sample sits a little wonky on its wheels but the motor works just fine and the bus ambles along in a nice slow fashion. Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina

Here's the Corgi Northland Greyhound bus at 1/50 scale next to the Cragstan.

he bus looks a tad big by these buildings only because they're underscaled. On my new (planned) layout it should look just fine

I don't get these digital cameras. Mine was able to correctly 'read' the lighting for all the other shots but simply pointing it overhead to get this view, the entire scene appears to be cast in a golden glow. I haven't figured out yet how to correct or compensate for that.

Corgi 1/50 Scale Diecast No. 5401 Northland Greyhound Lines GM 4506

Well, seeing as how we're in bus mode, here's a really nice Greyhound bus from Corgi, the GM type 4506 in 1/50 scale diecast. I bought a couple of diecast buses because they looked pretty good on the train layout but then decided to simply go with the older, vintage toys instead - oh well! The bus measures 7 3/4" (19.68cm) L x 1 7/8" (4.76cm) W x 3 1/8" (7.93cm) H. Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina

Standing next to the Corgi bus is an O-gauge figure from Model Power. The bus appears to be a tad bit small. Were it 1/43 scale vs. 1/50 scale it would be just right

You can see here just how small the Renwal bus is in comparison. The figure is a giant comparitively

Two Greyhounds: Corgi and KKK (Japan). Looks like the Scenicruiser is nearly perfect for an O-gauge layout

Renwal City Bus Co No. 124 - Yellow HP

So far we've posted red and cream versions of this classic toy bus and now here's a yellow version. I know Renwal also made these in blue and green but I'm not so sure I want to spend the $$ to get those because they're starting to get pricey. Anywho, I'll keep looking and if they become available for a decent price perhaps I'll add some to the fleet. Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina
