2013_10_27 Big Sky Pics and More Bird Watching

As we pour over the photos from the last few days some things stand out more than others. On the 27th the sky was pretty clear with only a stray cloud or two, nice for shooting the mountains. But it was also a good day for birdie watching. Now, Bettina and I are not 'bird watchers', it's not a hobby of ours, BUT we love watching those birds who roost by us and visit us. We don't know what they are but we do know we like them and Bettina has gotten some nice close-ups of our little friends. Enjoy!

Ravensblight.com - The Hidden Cemetery and Lemax Accessories

We're going to cap off Halloween week with another of Ray O'Bannon's projects, The Hidden Cemetery, but slightly altered for today's post. I ran out of time this week to work on projects so decided to do something a little different. Normally the cemetery has paper tombstones, vault, and trees but those got replaced in the photos with tombstones and coffins from Lemax which are scaled just right for this project. Bettina and I could be blogging Halloween stuff for the next year but we're goin' to have to call it quits for now and save something for later. I would really like to build an actual Halloween village but it will have to wait. So hey, let's take a look at this little gem which measures 7" (17.8cm) W x 5 1/4" 913.3cm) D x 1 1/4" (3.2cm) H. It was a straight forward build and is braced with stripwood like the rest of my paper projects and took perhaps about 40 minutes to build. Enjoy!

Mattel Hot Wheels 2009 #R0942 Ghostbusters Ecto-1

Continuing our Halloween themed posts this week we have another Ecto-1 Ghostbusters Hot Wheels car from Mattel, but this one is from 2009 and in the original paint scheme of white body with red-detailed fins. Back on Oct 25th we featured an Ecto-1 in a special Halloween scheme. Being that it's in such a small scale there is a loss in fidelity of detail but it's good enough to roll around the floor, on a Hot Wheels track, or playing crash cars with. Perhaps one day I'll fess up for a 1/43 scale version (my personal favorite scale) and give these dinky little cars away, but for now let's just enjoy the photos - Enjoy!

Ray Keim's Haunted Dimensions Skoolhouse

Another spooky-themed website is Ray Keim's Haunted Dimensions. Ray's artwork is super and from what I can see of the lone model I've managed to build, the quality of the kits (all free downloads) are the best. The Skoolhouse featured today is the only kit I've assembled to-date and it's a treat. It looks like something out of a Tim Burton movie, almost ready to gobble up anyone who enters! There aren't any in-progress photos for this one as it was pretty much a straight forward build. The Skoolhouse measures 3" (7.6cm) W x 5 5/8" (14.3cm) D x 6 1/4" (15.9cm) H Hope you like - Enjoy!

Here's the Skoolhouse posed with the other two buildings featured this past week for size comparison
