T-Birds Over Da Hood

Where we live, every day is an air show - or it seems like that at times. The USAF Thunderbirds, who call Nellis AFB their home, were practicing recently and getting pretty close to the old homestead!  The skies were overcast but Bettina still managed to get a couple of nice shots. Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina

  1. I'm very envious of photographic abilities Bettina, I troll-up to Farnborough every two years, point my trusty Nikon at the large things flying slowly over my head, go home and upload a series of blank sky's with little grey blurs in them!

Still, they all seem to include Nellis in their itinerary, so eventually I get to see them again, properly, here!

    1. LOL Sorry Hugh! Let's just say Bettina has had a lot of practice :-) She does manage to get some great shots huh? I haven't been able to post nearly as many of her pics as I'd like but there are some more coming I promise!!

  2. Yesterday it was announced (as they will miss all the domestic shows) that the Red Arrows are to tour the US for the whole of next Summer . . . I only hope they too include Nellis in their program and that Bettina is home that day!

    1. Cool! We've seen aerial demonstration units from all over the world here at Nellis, it would be nice to see them. That being said I may have already seen them sometime in the past but forgot :-) My memory is as long as a New York minute nowadays!
