A Look at MPC's Breech Loading Cannon's - Pt 4 Blue SP with Spoked Wheels

MPC really got a lot of mileage out of their cannon tooling. Same basic cannon, but if you swap pneumatic tires for spoked wheels now you have a toy appropriate for an entirely different era. MPC sold these spoked wheel toys in their Rev War playsets as well as American Civil War and modern military! Funny, but I have yet to see a cannon in a MPC Western playset - hmmmm. Oh well, maybe I'll come across one some day. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

I have to wonder why they chose to put an earlier type cannon in what is most definitely mid-1900's style playset

A full cannon crew would have consisted of at least six personnel per artillery piece. MPC made a limited amount of poses and totally failed to make a limber and/or caisson for theirs.

This is a slightly lighter shade of blue. This came from the Battle of Bunker Hill set pictured above and shows what a pristine set is comprised of
