Not having taken any photos this past couple of months I started combing through those already on file and came across this Gas Station from Ideal The station was made ca1951-53 and came in red-&-white and red-&yellow hard plastic that I'm aware of and perhaps more color combinations. At the time these photos were taken I didn't know what vehicles came with it. Turns out I have the vehicles but they're buried! One day perhaps we'll dig 'em out and photograph everything together the way it should be. There are two bays on either side with opening overhead doors. The 'Laundry' bay is an empty space, while the 'Lubritorium' bay features a dual greas rack. The office are has a cast-in sales counter with cash register. My sample has heat damage apparently the result of a failed attempt at lighting the interior! Fortunately with today's LED bulbs, the interiors of paper and plastic models can be illuminated quite safelyThe station measures 8 1/4" (21cm) L x 6" (15.2cm) D x 2 1/2" (6.4cm) H. Enjoy!
