As a small follow-up to the mini-series of Rapaport Bros. cast metal Buck Rogers figures comes this image from another set of brothers. This time it's an extract from an Eccles Bros. catalog, graciously provided by blog reader Hugh Walter, showing yet more figures and providing us collector's with a few more names from the Buck Rogers story like 'Ardala' (who was Killer Kane's main squeeze) and the 'Mekkano Man' robot. Follow-up To Rapaport Bros. Cast Metal Buck Rogers Figures: Eccles Bros. Rare Buck Rogers Set
Rapaport Bros. Cast Metal Buck Rogers Figure: Unknown Character 45mm
I have no clue who this character is supposed to be. The only thing that comes to mind is one of Killer Kane's lackey's or goons??? Yes? No? Maybe? He's much shorter than the other figures at only 45mm because he's hunched over. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

Marx Repo Superman - 65mm Cream SP
Never one to shy away from repos if originals aren't available, I picked up this repo Superman figure last year to go with my Marx tin-litho Skyscraper building. An article in a recent issue of Playset magazine made a strong argument that this figure was designed to be included with the skyscraper but that never came to pass, so it was sold as a stand-alone toy. He measures 2.5"/65mm high and is standing in the typical 'hands on hip' superhero pose. Enjoy! Opa Fritz
'Lift Off' - Another bit of Homemade 'Art' by Yours Truly
Taking my cue from this beautiful painting by Fred Gambino titled 'Mars', I wanted to do something with a bit of the same vibe.
Rapaport Bros. Cast Metal Buck Rogers Figure: Dr. Huer 54mm
Dr. Huer is Buck Roger's friend - much like Dr. Zharkov is Flash Gordon's friend. I was always more into Flash Gordon than Buck and that may have played a part in me not being overly interested in these Buck Rogers toys. Even in 1979 when the television series came out, I largely ignored it, but enjoyed the heck out of the Flash Gordon movie of 1980! Now, I cannot explain that, because the comic book art and Republic serials of the '30s and '40s are so much alike in their look and feel that they're almost interchangeable. It is what it is. This figure is also 54mm, like Wilma Deering. Anywho, here's the good doctor - Enjoy! Opa Fritz

Old Photos: A Look Back At Some of My Superhero Collection
For one year back in 2011-12 I was really big into the Hasbro 4" tall superhero figures. From Nov 2011 to Dec 2012 we featured seventeen different figures here on Toys and Stuff. Then I stopped. I still had five more in unopened packages that were never taken out and photographed. For me the whole superhero craze had simply taken me down another path. Instead of acquiring more of these large figures, I went with smaller ones instead, concentrating my efforts on mostly 1/64 or 1/43 scale Batmobiles an superhero vehicles. So what the heck, I have these photos of the figures still in there packages, might as well share them. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

Rapaport Bros. Cast Metal Buck Rogers Figure: Wilma Deering 54mm
The second of four Buck Rogers figures in my collection made from the Rapaport Bros. Junior Caster Mold set. These photos were taken ten years ago in 2014 and since then I have yet to even try and acquire the remaining figures in the set. Each one of my figures are a different size and Wilma here is significantly shorter at 54mm than Killer Kane (70mm). Enjoy! Opa Fritz
