Today on Fire Engine and Emergency Vehicle Friday we're gonna switch gears slightly and feature a classic rubber toy from the 1940s/50s, the Auburn Fire Engine #1 "A.F.D. 3". Beneath the truck, along the frame, is molded "Auburn Rubber Co." and beneath the hose area is molded "1". On top of the vehicle cab and painted over in silver is "A.F.D. 3", ostensibly standing for 'Auburn Fire Dept.'. This little pumper measures 4 1/2" long (10.8cm). It's a nifty little piece from the Golden Age of Toys - Enjoy!
