Pyro Small Army Flatbed Auto w/o Star - OD HP

[yoo-bik-wi-tuh s]

existing or being everywhere, especially at the same time;omnipresent:
ubiquitous fog; ubiquitous little ants.

...or these little plastic cars

I don't know when this type of toy vehicle first hit the market but the Pyro version of it has been around since the early 1950s. Toy collectors see these pop up in sales of trains, military, doll houses, and just about everything else. They're all over the place and one day we'll try to do some comparison pics when I have time. If anyone has a definitive answer as to who first made these let us know please. They follow the very distinctive late '40-s/early '50s 'upside down bathtub' automotive design ethic of the era. The car measures 2 1/8" (5.39cm) L x 1 1/8" (2.85cm) W x  3/4" (1.90cm) H.
