Hubley P-47 Razorback Thunderbolt

The first prototype Republic XP-47 flew in 1939. While over 15,600 were produced from 1941-45 not all were called 'razorback's'. The Razorback Thunderbolts were called that because the canopy blended into the top of the fuselage with a somewhat 'sharp' top edge. The Razorback variants were primarily the P-47B,C,and early D models. Later 'D' models sported the bubble canopy and did away with the large spine.

I bought this Hubley P-47 years ago, took a few photos, and promptly forgot about it! Do I still have it? Did I sell it? Oh heck, it's gonna take major effort to find it out in The Cave if it's still out there. Overall it was in good shape, but it was missing the propeller. I've noticed that sooo many Hubley aircraft are in terrible condition and it's hard to find them in very good or excellent shape - unless they've been restored. I didn't record any specifics about the toy like length, wingspan, height but I would probably put this around the 1/48th scale range.

Culled from the Internet

The hangar is the No. 7 Army Hangar from Built-Rite (Warren Paper Products) and was featured on the blog in 2015

The built-Rite hangar is 9 1/2" wide so that gives you an indication of the P-47's size
