Tri-ang SpaceX Superset 1 No. 1175 - Pt 15 OUTER SPACE TRAVEL SERIES Rocket Nova 1 (in HTF UK Only green)

On the one hand, acquiring this set was absolutely terrific. Not only because of the original box, but because several pieces were only found in the UK. On the other hand, some of the pieces had issues. This rocket was missing two of the smaller nickel plated solid rocket boosters and I had to hit the spare parts bin for extras.

When Tri-ang teamed up with Multiple Toymakers to sell the toys here Stateside (under the Golden Astronaut banner), several color changes were made. This Nova 1 rocket was originally sold in the UK with a green main booster. Multiple Toymakers sold it here in the States with a purple booster. Be Blessed and Relish Life! Ed

Triang SpaceX Nova 1 Rocket Redux - UK Version

 I was able to latch-on to a loose Nova 1 rocket from fleaBay. This green-bodied version was not marketed here in the States so it's a nice addition to the Space Fleet! Enjoy! Opa Fritz

The last four toys of the Triang SpaceX Stage 1 are part of the Outer Space Travel group:

Unlike the other groups, there is no large 'set piece' like the M.L.P. or Moon Base. The Outer Space Travel group is essentially small single toys meant to round out Stage 1. The Rocket Nova 1's origins can be seen here at SpaceX Central. There's not a whole lot going on by way of operating features, only the external tanks are removable and it rolls around on those awkward little wheelsets that looked like they got pulled off of a cheap N-gauge train. It measures 4" (10.16cm) L, the main rocket is 1/2" (1.27cm) diameter and when it's sitting on the wheels it is 1 1/8" (2.85cm) H. Enjoy! Opa Fritz
