Tri-ang SpaceX Superset 1 No. 1175 - Pt 13 OUTER SPACE TRAVEL SERIES Pleasure Cruiser 1

This is the first of four OUTTER SPACE TRAVEL SERIES toys included in Tri-ang's Superset 1. When reading the origin stories for the various toys (as presented on Paul Vreede's excellent Spacex website), it's clear the designer's put a lot of effort into what would become pocket change toys. It was truly a wonderful line of toys way ahead of its time. Be Blessed and Relish Life! Ed

Origin story: "Found by Kim Stevens, the Pleasure Cruiser is copied from an aircraft appearing in Stealers of Men, published in the 1968 Boy's World annual. According to Kim, the artist is presumed to be Bruno Maraffa (some panels are signed MB), an Italian who was drawing comics in Britain at the time."

Triang SpaceX Pleasure Cruiser REDUX - Sideways (Left Facing) Packaging Variation

Triang packaged their SpaceX toys in a number of ways as Paul Vreede shows on his website SpaceX Central. This particular package, obtained recently, has the Pleasure Cruiser facing left while others faced either upwards (as I've previously blogged) or right. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

Triang SpaceX Pleasure Cruiser 1

Well, with this Pleasure Cruiser post, we've reached the end of the line in so far as the photo essays for the Triang SpaceX Stage 1 vehicles, spaceships, launch pads, moon bases, and what-have-you are concerned. What we'll concentrate on in the next series of posts are all the figures that came with these. The origins for the Pleasure Cruiser are here at SpaceX Central. The dimensions are 3 3/8" L x 3" wingspan x 1 1/8" H. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

You may not recognize the color of this Pyro X-100 Space Scout. That's because it's a repaint! Probably the reason I got it so cheap many years back LOL
