This past Saturday we wanted to get out of the house and the Las Vegas heat and decided to drive up to the mountains. First we drove up to the Visitor's Center in Kyle Canyon, a part of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest in the Spring Mountains, and stopped there. We decided not to head all the way up to The Lodge on Mt. Charleston but to just enjoy the views at the Visitor's Center. Then, on a whim, we decided to take the cut-off road leading to Lee Canyon and the ski resort. I believe I like that road a bit better and to me it's a tad bit more scenic. water, rest rooms, hiking trails, beautiful views, souvenirs, but no restaurant. They do have a separate building with a kitchen that can be rented out for activities.

And on the way home Bettina spotted a Gypsy style camper being pulled by another camper. We were going to fast to catch another photo but the Gypsy wagon was mounted on what appeared to be a ca1925 Ford truck chassis.
