Mini-Army Trucks - Part 6 Second Set Humber Type 2/3B - Searchlight

You can't have a set of Army trucks without having a searchlight, so here it is! Like the others in this series, the searchlight can elevate as well as rotate. While these are not branded Kleeware, they would be considered Kleeware knock-offs and were available for many years on dimestore racks either as toys in the toy department or as cake toppers in the baking section. Kleeware Knock-off Mini-Army Truck - Pt 3 Humber Type 2 Body Searchlight *** NOW IDENTIFIED AS TYPE 2C***

Hugh, here's one I didn't see in your photos. That comes as no surprise because, even after a cursory search for these mini-trucks/tanks/armor, it's plain to see there were about a million of them! As a fatter-of-mact, I'm expecting a couple of job lots to come in which will further show the diversity of these little gems. And I mean little gems because, just like all those tiny SpaceX/Golden Astronaut/LP/Imperial space toys that have been blogged here, these little pocket change toys were a God-send to kids with limited means or just as a quick bedroom floor toy mom could buy for Junior on rainy days. I remember having a set of small Lido Army vehicles that were cake toppers for one of my birthdays in the early '60s (those were blogged here in 2017) and somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind I seem to recall having toys similar to these. Apparently these soft plastic trucks were not Kleeware but rather Kleeware knock-offs as Kleeware trucks were made in hard plastic. They were most likely made in Hong Kong by companies I generically refer to as "Mom & Pop, Inc. Kowloon Walled City, Hong Kong'

Kleeware (Maybe) Mini-Army Trucks Revisited - Pt 2 Humber Type 1 (?) Radar Truck

Okay folks, I'm operating here from a near total lack of knowledge. After visiting Hugh Walter's awesome Small Scale World blog I was able to piece together that these mini-trucks are essentially based on the popular British Army Humber all-purpose truck.

Here's the line-up of trucks being posted over the next few days 

If I got it right, Hugh's blog states the truck being posted here today sports a 'Type 1 Body' (his designation).

After looking at Hugh's photos, this truck appears to be a Type 1 Radar as it sits lower on the truck bed than the other radar arrays. However, the truck chassis looks like it could be a Type 2? I'll need clarification. 

One of the things I forgot to do back in 2020 when I took these photos, is to snap a pic of the undersides to see what, if any, markings there were. Trying to find these toys out in The Cave will be a real bear now so we'll make do with the photos I have.

 A note on size. These trucks are small! Smaller than HO (1/87) scale or 1/72 Scale.
