Pyro Rocketship, Early 1950s (silver)

Back on Apr 19 we featured one of these Nifty '50s rocketships from Pyro. That one was in a blue hard plastic, while today's is in silver. Toy maker's liked to produce these in a variety of brightly colored plastics but my favorite is the silver-colored ones which reminds me of the sleek unpainted Century-series jets and NASA rockets that we would see in photos of the era. Our rocketship measures 4 1/4" (10.8cm) L x 2" (5.1cm) H x 1 1/4" (3.2cm) W. Enjoy! The Berg's :)

Early 1950s Pyro Rocketship

We're taking a break from Civil War posts so I can get a chance to photograph more ACW toys and work on the diorama.

Space toys play a big part here at Toys and Stuff and it's always fun to dig up vintage space toys like the one shown here today from the early 1950s, the Pyro Rocketship. While photos of it appear in a couple of my books there are no write-ups, no mini-histories and so not much is known about it. It does come in assorted colors and measures 4 1/4" (10.8cm) L x 2" (5.1cm) W x 1 1/4" (3.2cm) H. Mine does have some condition issues but it's still a nice addition to the fleet. Enjoy!
