Today on Sci-Fi and Fantasy Saturday is Play Along Toys AOME LOTR Sharku On Warg. This handsome fella was one of the first of the Armies of Middle Earth Figurines to be released. I can remember seeing these LOTR figures for the first time in the stores - I think I saw them in Suncoast Video - and they really grabbed me! The wonderful sculpting, the great action, the color, the fidelity to detail in regards to how they matched their on-screen counterparts. For a toy collector it was love at first sight and fortunately the AOME line lasted a while and had quite a few issues. Toy lines have a bad reputation for having a short shelf-life, here today, gone tomorrow. There are of course very successful, long running franchises like Star Wars and Transformers (neither of which I collect) but in the world of toys, they're the exception. Anyway, Enjoy!
