GIANT Plastics Corp. (aka GIANT of Hong Kong) / Helen of Toy Space Toys - Pt 6 25mm Astronaut Pose 4

I'll tell ya what - it's been a rough month and it's been hard keeping my head in the game. I noticed that I mis-numbered the series parts, so had to go back and make sure each title was numbered correctly.  Everything is back on track and there shouldn't be any more faux pas', essential in that there are still quite a few posts to go.

Moving right along, up next in our look at GIANT 25mm is another adapted Little Green Army Man figure turned Spaceman. He's posed holding a walkie-talkie - a common pose for Little Green Army Men - but he's trying to talk through his helmet!  I s'pose - whatever works! Enjoy! Opa Fritz

GIANT Plastics Corp. (aka GIANT of Hong Kong) / Helen of Toy Space Toys - Pt 4 25mm Astronaut Pose 2 & Ed Emshwiller's 'Starship Soldier's'

While perusing my saved space art, it occurred to me that the figures appearing in this art by Ed Emshwiller (as the cover for the serialized story "Starship Soldier" by Robert Heinlein, which would later be published as the novel 'Starship Troopers') could very well have been the inspiration for the GIANT spacemen. Their similarities are just too much to ignore. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

Unlike so many of the Hong Kong toy makers, GIANT marked all of their figures under the bases, making it easier to tell whether you got the original or repop.

GIANT Plastics Corp. (aka GIANT of Hong Kong) / Helen of Toy Space Toys - Pt 2 25mm Astronaut Pose 1

I wanted to start this GIANT series a couple of months ago, but ended up needing a missing Martian figure as well as one of the tanks. I was able to get the tank off of fleaBay for a decent price. Normally the Martian figures are pricey but I was able to get one from a fellow collector and facebooker for a lot less. The astronaut figures are a dime a dozen and can be had for decent prices. The figures themselves are only 1"/25mm H. All that being said, I'm still missing the spaceship that goes with these. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

All eight astronaut poses.

I've labeled the poses in the order in which I took the photos. This guy was the first one I took photos of so he's given the honor of  'Pose 1'.

Triang SpaceX 25mm Astronauts: Figure 13 & 20mm Figs

The last post includes Figure 13, a recap of all 13 figures in the range, and a shot of the 20mm figures which came with the Moon Base. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

Figure 13
Here's a guy you can put just about anywhere - at a console, driving a vehicle, at the controls of a space ship. I've got him on a crate. My take? He's a supply guy, a logistician, and he's waiting for the next available forklift to get the crate loaded into the spaceship.
Or not! :-)
Your take?

All 13 figures + 20mm

These 6 figures were included with the Moon Base H.Q. set and are all 20mm. They're smaller to facilitate placing within the domed modules of the Moon Base but to-date I did not do a photo essay for these. One day maybe
