MPC 54mm Astronauts #1

Like I did with the Marx 54mm astronauts, I've arbitrarily named the MPC astronauts #'s 1 thru 10. The first one up is the seated figure, and like many toy astronauts of the time he simply appears to be wearing a pressure suit vs. one designed specifically for the Lunar surface. That suit, of course, wouldn't be approved by NASA nor appear for years, but when it did more and more toys would reflect that new design. As with the Marx seated 54mm astronaut, I just grabbed a crate from the train layout and plopped his butt down on it LOL. Hey, it works! Enjoy! Opa Fritz

TRAIN TIME: The Edge of Town Train Layout is Up and Running Again - For Now!

It's been nearly two years since I ran trains on my small Edge of Town layout having posted the last video of it in January 2018. Since then it had been cleared off and used for storage - a predicament I have to live with out in The Cave until I can get rid of stuff! I recently purchased a battery operated Marx train set very cheap and put it through its paces. In the video the tender derailed a couple of times. Once I stopped filming I messed with the coupler's and that apparently did the trick and it runs fine now. Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina

Johnny Lightning #50298 2011 '57 Chevy Hearse

A Haunted Village somehow wouldn't be complete without a hearse and what cooler bone wagon could there be than a sleek black and silver '57 Chevy? This 1/64 scale offering from Johnny Lightning from 2011 fits the bill nicely. This is a nicely detailed little car complete with opening hood revealing the power plant underneath. I would really have liked an old school horse drawn hearse for the Village but haven't been able to find any. That being said but I'm really diggin' this in the meantime. Enjoy!
